The Helderberg Village Library is a professionally managed resource exclusively for residents, run by resident volunteers. Located centrally within the estate, it offers an extensive collection of fiction and non-fiction books, predominantly in English, alongside curated selections in Afrikaans, German, Dutch, and French. The library also boasts shelves of coffee table books, special collections, and works by Village authors.
The library prides itself on its dynamic multimedia resources, which include jigsaw puzzles, magazines, numerous DVDs, and audiobooks. Regular features include monthly themed book displays and biannual sales of second-hand books. Funds raised from these sales are utilized to update the collection with recent releases.
Additionally, the library serves as a hub for friendship and community engagement, operated with dedication by villagers for the benefit of fellow villagers.
Details
The library is open on a Monday from 15:00 - 16:00, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 and 15:00 - 16:00 and Saturday mornings from 10:00 - 11:00. Closed on Wednesdays. Closed on public holidays.
